Mum and Dad's voyage across the pond...

Bikers.gif

Biker dudes...

I didn't recognise who these guys were when the picture popped up on my import screen. I was about to say, "Who are these guys?!", when I remembered it was Dad and me. We took a cool cruise on the harley around Dorset county. Couldn't get Mum on the thing, though. This was on one of our "rest" days. We took 3 trips to London and spent a weekend in Paris. In between trips we rest at home and prepare for the next day's adventure.
The weather cooled off, thankfully, and we even got a bit of a shower now and then, but that hasn't slowed us down a bit. I'm home today, catching up on some homework, but Rhonda took Mum and Dad for a long walk through the gardens at Stourhead.

With one of the Royal Horse Guard...

Here's a photo we took in London, with one of the Royal Horse Guard. If you've been keeping up with this blog you'll remember that when Victoria was here we saw the horses parade down the Mall and into Buckingham Palace. We haven't seen the horses at this place since, but last year I got a picture of Rhonda next to one of the horses, which is a bit more dramatic.
Now for your information, yes, we did a lot more things on this trip and yes, there are a lot more pictures, but you'll have to wait for Mum and Dad to get home and show you their movies and pictures. This is just a 'taste'... But keep scrolling down, there are more pictures !

So, Phil, this is what Paris looks like ...

I know you can't wait for them to come home and show you their pics of all they saw and did. I know they had a great time... Rhonda and I did, too ! We've had a great visit and have tired them both out, but I know they're very anxious to come home and share their stories with you all.

We got a Lobster postcard from Pam today... Thanks Pam! You're so sweet, always thinking about us and sending us kooky cards. (Pam asked me to put some photos on the website, so I've done it right away for all of you to enjoy!)
Ciao for now !

Grandmother...

GMa.gif

God bless you, Grandma!

Most of you already know that my grandmother passed this week, she was 91 years old. She went peacefully in her sleep and her suffering was kept to a minimum, for which we are grateful. She had a long and happy life, and although I'll miss her, I'm thankful for all the wonderful years she was there for us. I'm really glad she didn't have to suffer and that we got a chance to visit her last Thanksgiving, and that she and Rhonda got to meet before we left. She was very bright and active then, and thought that Rhonda was really sweet, as do the rest of my family. We loved her very much and will miss her. She always had something nice to say about everybody, and was one of the most kind and gentle people I've every known.

Texas/Oklahoma trip...

CookinCrew.gif

Everybody's Cookin' !

This trip was over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Rhonda and I flew from Seattle to Austin and spent that week at Steve and Shea's new house (see photo below, open Nov archive if it's not there). Danny and Donna, Jeff and Deana, Laney and Casey, Dad and Kit and a few other folks were there. There was way too much food, we had a turkey and all the trimmin's, plus Donna made a pepper turkey, and I made bran rolls (my Mom's recipe). Brock kept everybody entertained for most of the day and we had a really great time.

Elvis is reborn !

Brock is dancin' and puttin' the moves on the girls... Laney and Casey have taught him to dance to Ramstein's "We are living in America..." (I don't know the actual title to the song), and he just couldn't get enough of it.
Click on the links below to see more of "the King" (and some of his court).

Phil and Grandma

Steve and Shea (and Brock, and another unidentified passenger) drove Rhonda and me up to Tulsa to see Grandma. She's doing really great and was very happy to see all of us. Dad and Kit drove up in another car and stayed with Grant and Betty. We had a nice visit and dinner at her "home". Rhonda and I flew out of Tulsa back home.

Trimmin' the house...

We put up the lights on our house, had a little help...

HouseLights.gif
The house looks nice, my Mom sent a pretty balsam wreath that we put over the garage. There are other houses around that have a lot more lights and are more beautiful, but we used all the lights that we had between us and since we're moving to England where the voltage is 240VAC, we didn't buy any more. The lights we have will stay here with the house for my tennants to use.

Steve and Shea's House

Unbelievable. I just can't get over it. More than 5500 sq ft. On top of a hill. The whole house has either tile or hardwood floors.
Frontsmall.gif

They're very happy, and I can see why. 5 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms. High ceilings, 3 car garage, the works. I can't go on. I have home envy.
