Rhonda's new Merc

| Rhonda's new (pre-owned) car... |
Well, we've been here just over a year and Rhonda has been a real trooper about not having transportation of her own - other than her scooter, of course. We'd looked a bit but had decided to wait, until I went in to get my truck MOT'd this year and saw this pretty girl. Rhonda is manual transmissionally challenged, so we had to find an automatic, which this is. I wanted something reliable... something I didn't have to fix or pay to have fixed. It's a 2001 Mercedes-Benz A190 Elegance...front wheel drive, automatic, with airconditioning, power windows and mirrors, and 35mpg. Oh yeah, the steering wheel is on the right side. It's small on the outside but has lots of room inside. Seats 4 adults comfortably, but room for only a couple of suitcases in the boot (hint, hint).

As you can see, Rhonda's pretty happy about this. Actually, I am too, I don't have to take her to the grocery store after work anymore. Or to pickup cat food. Or to... you get it. She'll be able to get around when I'm gone travelling as well. I'm really proud of her for being patient, I think it was worth the wait. I'll shutup and let her tell you what she thinks.

Rhonda's new Honda...
|
| Zoooommm!!!! |
Wow! Look at Rhonda go! She's got wheels! And style! She's ready to cruise the English roadways! I think she ought to slow down a bit though, don't you? Hey, did I just clock her at 85? No, I don't think so.
This is Rhonda's new (to her) 2003 Honda Metropolitan I. This beauty boasts 49cc's and will has a road wrenching top speed of 40 mph. It's got an automatic transmission, electric or kick start, a large storage compartment under the seat (really, you could fit a large watermelon in there) and is street legal, complete with lights, turn signals, mirrors and license plate. It gets 80 mpg, and with my multiple car discount, cost me a mere $6.29 per month to insure, at least here in the states. And doesn't she look great on it? Whasa matta? Too blurry? Read on.... (hint, more pics)
